First steps

You have received an invitation from us. What do you do now?

How it works

1. Decide who answers

   The letter went to your address, not to a name. The person to answer is the adult in your household who had their birthday most recently. This rule makes sure it is not always whoever opens the post who replies — so pass the letter on if it applies to someone else.

2. Open the portal

   Point your phone’s camera at the QR code on your letter, or type the address www.duesseldorfer-kulturpanel.de into your browser. On the home page, under “Take part”, click Go to the questionnaire.

3. Enter your access code

   The first page of the questionnaire asks for your access code. It is printed on the letter and consists of eight characters in two blocks, for example XXXX-XXXX. Upper and lower case do not matter, and you can leave out the hyphen.

   You need neither a user account nor a password — the code alone is enough.

4. Fill in the questionnaire and submit it

   You answer the questions at your own pace and submit the questionnaire at the end. Your participation is only complete once you have submitted it.

Filling it in

The questionnaire is easy to complete and takes no great effort. As a rule you simply click the box next to the answer that applies to you.

In some places you enter numbers, for instance years, into the fields provided. Where more than one answer may be given, the question says so.

Interrupting and continuing later

You do not have to complete the questionnaire in one go. Simply close the window — your answers so far are saved. Open the portal again later with the same access code and you continue at the same point.

You can also switch devices: your progress is tied to the access code, not to your computer. Keep the letter at hand, and you can carry on wherever you like.

If something goes wrong

• The code is not accepted? Access codes never contain the characters 0, 1, I, L and O — it is usually an O rather than a zero, or a 1 rather than an I.
• Letter mislaid? Drop us a line and we will send you a new code by post.
